Best Korean Restaurants in Tokyo

Tokyo has one of the world's great Korean dining scenes, shaped by a large Zainichi Korean community whose culinary traditions have been embedded in Japanese food culture for generations. The Shin-Okubo neighbourhood, known as "Korea Town", is the most concentrated Korean dining district in Japan, packed with BBQ restaurants, Korean cosmetics shops, and K-pop merchandise stores.

Beyond Shin-Okubo, Korean restaurants are scattered throughout Tokyo offering everything from traditional Korean home cooking (hansik) to contemporary Korean-Japanese fusion. Yakiniku — the Japanese adaptation of Korean BBQ — is a distinct category in its own right, and Tokyo's yakiniku restaurants are among the best in the world.
